Two Spartan Funds Awarded as Top Performers at the 2026 Canadian Hedge Fund Awards
Oct / 28 / 26
Spartan’s Bromma Resource Canada Access Fund took first place in the Best 1-Year Return category for equity-focused funds (+98.51%) at the recent 2026 Canadian Hedge Fund Awards. The awards, which are performance-based, reflect the monthly compounding returns for Bromma’s C$ “F”-class units ending June 30, 2026 as compiled by Fundata Canada.
The Bromma Resource Canada Access Fund provides exposure to the Bromma Resource Fund managed by Bromma Asset Management, a resource-focused investment manager co-founded by Harry Lundin, and is designed to capture the upside when commodity prices are bullish while seeking to provide downside protection and return generation should a pullback occur. The Fund’s underlying strategy has annualized at over +24% since Harry became PM in October 2019.
Another Spartan fund, the MMCAP Canadian Fund took first place in the Best 10-Year Return category for equity-focused funds (+24.30%) and also won for Overall Best 2026 Canadian Hedge Fund – which combines the Best 10-Year Return and Best Sharpe Ratio categories – for its C$ “F”-class units.
The MMCAP Canadian Fund is an opportunistic, event-driven fund that concentrates on small- to mid-sized corporate actions in Canada, the US and elsewhere, and seeks to exploit inefficiencies that are overlooked and/or not understood by larger market participants.
The Bromma Resource Canada Access Fund and MMCAP Canadian Fund are suitable for investors seeking aggressive growth and who are able to tolerate high risk/volatility.
Please contact Paul Patterson if you’re interested in learning more about either fund.
